Thomas Birch has been Managing Director, Global Venture Capital and Technology, since 2015. In this role, he co-leads CDPQ's technology and venture capital investment activities within the Private Equity team.

Mr. Birch has over 30 years of entrepreneurial software operating experience in the contact centre, telecom, CRM and e-commerce markets. Prior to joining CDPQ, he was VP of Corporate Development at Telesystem and Managing Partner of Propulsion Ventures, where he invested primarily in software-as-a-service oriented early stage companies. Before moving into the investment world, he was CEO of three software companies that were financed by venture capital or angels: GoodContacts, DataCHEST and Pyderion.

Mr. Birch has a B.A. in Mathematics and a B.Sc. of Computing Science from Queen's University and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business of University of Western Ontario.

He currently sits on the Boards of Directors of Dalcor, Element AI and Centech (Centre for Entrepreneurship of École de technologie supérieure). During his career, he has sat on Boards of many companies, including Lightspeed, Interset, Woozworld, dna13, eBillme, IVARA and X2O Media.
